Hi I'm Sam AKA Brown Owl and Leader in charge at 38th Norwich Brownies.
I have been in the unit since 2008 and through this time have completed my Adult Leadership Qualification 1-4 and Going away with License, enabling me to take the unit on sleepovers and holidays.
I am also District Mentor to new volunteers within the district and Earlham District Commissioner which means as well as running this unit I help oversee all the Rainbow, Brownie, Guide and Senior Section Volunteers and attend Norwich Division meetings.
I love volunteering at Brownies seeing the difference it makes to so many young girls, seeing their confidence grow, trying new things and having fun in a safe space. I enjoy running a varied programme and especially enjoy giving girls the opportunities such as sleepovers, residential and trying new activities.
I was a Brownie and Girl Guide myself and enjoyed my time in guiding but then left during high school. I then got re-involved with Girl-guiding when I went to University, I have made some great friendships along the way and met some amazing young girls, parents, helpers and leaders.
As well as all my voluntary work within Girl-guiding I also work full time as a Manager in a Sure Start Children's Centre in Great Yarmouth and live with my husband and 2 cats :)
My interests are - Shopping,Music,Concerts ,Movies and Theatre
I love- Owls, Cats, Pink,Glitter and sparkly things
I dislike- Spiders, Clowns and Heights!
